Tara Moti Melwani, was recognized as a direct disciple by His Holiness the 14th Dalai in 2023 when he told her to her shock.

 

Daughter of the prominent entrepreneur Moti C.Melwani (www.melwani.com) Tara is the eldest of three daughters who ran her late fathers business for many years. She stepped down to follow her heart. Serve her gurus, His Holiness the Dalai Lama and Lama Zopa Rinpoche. 

 

Tara has organized His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama's public talks for thousands of people in Bangalore and in Mumbai on numerous occasions. She was also instrumental in organising his inaugural teachings for Southeast Asians in Dharamsala in 2007. 

 

Tara was the invisible student to serve His Holiness  at Singapore Changi Airport during his transit stops in Singapore en route to Japan and Australia. 

 

Born and raised in Singapore, Tara was noticed by the Business Times of Singapore as one of the CEO leaders to watch out for. This is a claim she cannot accept at all. 

 

At the request of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama in 2020 Tara has led meditation as a Resident at a top notch members only club: whose vision is to inspire conversations in a salon for creators and explorers to meet at the request of the Founders. 

 

At Temasek, a part of the Singapore Government's attempt to create an environment of learning through its employees efforts, Tara taught meditation to their directors and senior management to their upset. It was harder than they anticipated. 

 

Tara has done over 36 meditation retreats from 7- 100 days through her own efforts to make

sure she has cultivated a disciplined mind to share her values of a kind and warm hearted person.

His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama has instructed her to teach and guide those interested in secular ethics and in Buddhist meditation. She hasn’t started as yet due to no interest.

His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama reminds everyone that India is the guru (Spiritual Guide) and Tibet is the chela (Student). She has been his student since 1999 and in many lifetimes said His Holiness to Tara in 2023.
